Women love
Bingo sites
An increasing number of women are playing Bingo online,
according to new statistics.
Figures from internet measurement company Hitwise, reveal
that 3 in 5 visitors to bingo websites are women.
Generally, gambling sites attract far more men that women.
Heather Hopkins, Hitwise UK research director, said: “Women
have traditionally been underrepresented on gambling
websites but bingo is changing that. So-called
'soft-gambling' opens the doors to a new audience.”
The figures from Hitwise also show that sport betting
websites attract more male users than women gamblers - with
men accounting for 3 in 5 visits.
While less than 1 in 5 visits to online poker sites and 1 in
15 visits to casino sites are made to UK websites; nearly 19
in every 20 visits to sport betting are to domestic sites,
Hitwise reveals.
